Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Anchorage resident Michael James Frizzelle, 29, died Feb. 19, 2012, at Providence Alaska Medical Center.

Michael was born Oct. 2, 1982 in Pensacola, Fla. He moved to Alaska at the age of 6 months. He attended Robert Service and Wasilla high schools. He worked as a plumber, cook and in construction.
Michael’s greatest joy was becoming a father to his little angel, Kichelle, in May 2007. He was baptized a Catholic at the time of his death. He enjoyed playing with his daughter, watching movies and hanging out with friends and family.
His family wrote: “Michael was a free spirit who always said, ‘All who wander are not lost.’ He truly loved his daughter, family and friends. He had an infectious smile and never met a stranger who did not become his friend. He loved history, books and movies about Roman times. He is now a pirate with a ship. He will be forever missed and lives on through his daughter.”
Surviving are his mother and her partner, Kim Silsbee and Fred Cramer of Anchorage; father and step-mother, Mike and Triston Frizzelle; daughter, Kichelle Frizzelle; and sister, Ashlyn Frizzelle, all of Wasilla; brothers, Blake and Alex Silsbee of Anchorage and Austin Frizzelle of Wasilla; step-dad, John Silsbee of Anchorage; grandmother, Jeannette Lord of Shalimar, Fla.; his papa and memaw, James and Mae Garoutte of Anchorage; uncle and aunt, Kirk and Peggy Garoutte of Anchorage; stepson, Mackenzie Gardner of Anchorage; uncles, aunts and cousins in Fort Walton Beach, Fla., Maryland, Massachusetts and Arizona; aunts, uncles and cousins in Oregon; and many friends across the world.
Preceding him in death was his grandmother, Renate Frizzelle; grandfathers, Robert Frizzelle and Bruce Lord; and his twin brother.
