Michael James LaDuke Sr.

Michael James LaDuke Sr., 70, passed away June 30, 2015, at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage.

Michael was born Jan. 3, 1945, in Michigan. He graduated from Airport High School in Carlton, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Navy in the mid 1960s. He lived in Anchorage from 1986 to 1995. He lived in Wasilla fro 1995 to 2000 when he relocated back to Anchorage where he remained until his death.

Michael loved to fish and work on cars with his son Michael Jr. He retired in the mid-1990s.

Michael’s family wrote, “Michael LaDuke Sr. was a simple man who loved his family and children. He cared about everybody and was very charitable. He always listened to his children when they needed someone to talk to and always gave advice that proved he was wise beyond his years. He loved to explore, work on vehicles with his children and drive trucks cross country. He was loved and respected by many people and will be greatly missed.

Michael has joined his deceased son, James Lee Maddux; granddaughter, Kristen Maddux; and grandson, Austin Maddux. “

Michael is survived by his son, Michael James LaDuke Jr.; stepson, Rob Maddux; stepdaughter, Michelle Maddux; ex-wife, Barbara Burns Sylvia; and grandchildren, Mathew White, Nichole Maddux, Keith Hundley, Miranda LaDuke, Celine Maddux, James Klepzig, Cody Klepzig.

A funeral service is at 2 p.m., July 24 at the Legacy Wasilla Chapel, 1201 W. Parks Highway.
