Michael P. McGraw, 67, passed away peacefully on Feb. 21, 2016. He spent his last few days surrounded by family and friends, recalling stories and laughing and joking. Always the prankster, he loved to laugh. His family was the most important thing to him. He worked hard, played hard, and fought hard.
He worked as a welder. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, trapping, riding, anything that got him out communing with nature. You knew you were special if he got you a gun. He slowed down in his last few years and concentrated on his hobbies and family. Ultimately, he even found his way back to Jesus and received salvation.
Mike is survived by his girlfriend, Sharon Kay; sister, Patricia McGraw; multiple cousins; two children, Mike and Rebecca McGraw, and Michelle and Gregory Cook; his four grandchildren, John McGraw, Ben and Kelsie McGraw, Kelsie and Paul Paris, and Emily Pucci. He also has three great-grandchildren, Michaela, Rodney, Kooper, and one on the way.
A memorial service will be held at Wasilla First Baptist Church, located at 900 Leatherleaf Loop, on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at 6 p.m. A potluck reception will be held downstairs immediately following. All are welcome.
