Wasilla resident Michael Robin Plummer, 43, died unexpectedly March 7, 2012, while protecting his family. Memorial services in honor of Michael are at 3:30 p.m., April 27 at Valley Funeral Home, 151 E. Herning Ave., Wasilla.
Michael was born Dec. 28, 1968, in California, moved to Montana and then Alaska in 1983.
Michael attended Wasilla High School and later worked as both an electrician and commercial fisherman. He enjoyed carving, swimming and spending time with family.
“Michael will be loved and missed by many,” the family wrote. “If Mike was your friend, he was your friend for life. He loved to laugh and had a great sense of humor. It’s unfortunate his children will grow up without their father’s laughter. Mike was always honest and had a heart made of gold. He was a wonderful fiancé and father; his family meant the world to him. He was very powerful in every way. Mike overcame many obstacles. He met life head-on and died protecting those he loved. He will be with us in the eyes of his children.”
Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Fred Jones, Norma (Jones) Olson and Martin Olson; great-aunts and uncles Lorraine, Dorothy, Al, Elmer, Orville and Donnie; cousins, Donovan, Bobby, Jerry, Judy Abrahamson, Bobby Erickson and Junior Erickson; and his friends, Nick Stachelrodt and John Bay.
Surviving are his sons, Mike, Quinlyn and Joshawahn; daughters, Mikynlee, Violet Grace, Ivy and Baylie; fiancée, Jessica Smith; former wife, Sher Plummer; friend, Kimberley (Corbett) Weeks; brother, Jody Plummer and his children, Maxine and Anthony, their children Jazymyn, Carmyn and Carlos, and Sabrina and Brandon, and their children Tyson and Journey, Marcus, Melissa, John, Gabriel and Early Dawn; mother, Mary Lynn Bond and Chuck Irwin; his aunts and uncles, John and Darlene Jones, Deb and David Merriweather, Charles and Jackie Jones, Shawn and Becky Jones, Jacque Jones, Butch Cissney, Dale Jones and all their families; his great-aunts and uncles, Donald and Joyce Parenteau, John and Chris Jones, Roy and Sandy Jones, Roger and Peggy Offerdahl, Marvin and Shirley Jones, Bob and Pat Anderson and all their families; longtime friends, Richie York and Lynn Stachelrodt; and many more whose hearts he touched and loved.
