April 5, 1959 - July 8, 2025

Michael 'Mike' Scott Soto of Wasilla passed away suddenly on July 8, 2025. Mike was a beloved uncle to numerous nephews and nieces; always ready to lend an ear and especially eager to help with any endeavor that involved classic cars. An avid enthusiast of classic cars, Mike took on the seemingly impossible task of restoring an abandoned 1969 El Camino that was discovered in the woods. Although it took several years, Mike was pleased when the completed restoration revealed a car that was true to its origins. Mike was active in classic car shows, parades and even raced the El Camino on the quarter track at the Alaska Raceway. Also fond of rock music, Mike's philosophy was "the louder, the better.". As a lifelong Alaska resident, Mike never lost his love or passion for this wonderful state and had little desire in ventures outside of his home state.

Mike was preceded in death by his brother, Mark, nephews Jayson and James, and his parents, Alex and Arvilla Soto, who homesteaded in Wasilla in the early 1960's. He is survived by his brother Alexander 'Skip' Soto Jr. and his wife Darla, his sister Sylvia Ciringione and her husband Chris, and his sister Jean Deems. Surviving nephews and nieces include Joseph, Caleb, Silas, Seth, AJ and Ellie Soto; Kenneth Fredrick-Rock, Michael Rock, Anthony Rock, Maggie Ciringione, and Christine Nieto.
