Long time resident of Palmer, Michele "Mickie" Irvine, age 64, passed away on December 28, 2024.
Born in Palmer on January 14, 1960, to Stan and Nell Zaborac, Mickie grew up in the community she loved. She graduated from Palmer High School in 1978 and went on to marry her lifelong partner, James Irvine, on September 9, 1985.
Mickie was known for her infectious laughter and her ability to bring joy to everyone she met. Whether spending time with friends or sharing special moments with family, she had a natural gift for making others feel loved and cherished. As a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Mickie's legacy will live on in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know her. She will always be remembered as the best friend to many and the most loving G-Ma to her beloved granddaughters.
Mickie dedicated much of her career to Carrs/Safeway, where she worked for many years before retiring to spend more time with her grandchildren, whom she adored.
She is survived by her husband James; son Dillon; daughter Jayme; son-in-law Steve; granddaughters Emily and Elly; and many dear friends and family members who will miss her deeply.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Kehl's Palmer Mortuary.
A celebration of Mickie's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at the Palmer Moose Lodge, 1136 S Cobb St, Palmer, AK 99645. A potluck will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you bring a dish that she would have enjoyed.
Mickie's spirit will live on in the memories she created and the love she shared with those around her.
