Millie Chapman

Millie Chapman, 83, of Palmer Alaska went to be with her Lord God on Tuesday, May 23, 2017. She was born Feb. 13, 1934 to Harrison and Delia Pridemore of Charleston, West Virginia. It was there that she met and wed the love of her life, Jack Chapman, who was a U.S. Army Purple Heart recipient. They had 2 sons, Michael and Daniel.

The family moved to Alaska in the early 1960’s, leaving behind her brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and many friends. She was blessed with 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren as well as 2 neighborhood grandchildren. From making handcrafted Alaskan dolls, to volunteering with senior citizens, to a warehouse foreman of a Trans Alaskan Pipeline camp, Millie was very talented and hardworking. After her love of family and her best friend Ashley, came her passion for her home, lawn, garden and shrimping in Whittier.

A celebration of life will be held June 10, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Manna Baptist Church 10151 E. Palmer Wasilla Hwy. After the celebration of life the Chapman family would like to invite you to stay for lunch and continue sharing stories and memories of Millie.
