Mitch Carlson, beloved brother, uncle and friend, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly April 13, 2015.
He was born Aug. 20, 1955, in Virginia, Minn. His family moved to Juneau in 1969, and then he moved to Wasilla in 1983, where he lived all of his remaining days.
He loved Alaska, especially the Southeast. If you truly knew Mitch, you loved him, too!
Preceding him in death was his father, Roy Carlson; mother, D. Fay Carlson; and older brother, Michael.
Surviving are his brother, Mark Carlson and wife, Shana, and their daughters, Meredith and Kinsey, of Pace, Fla.; cousin, Sue Carlson and her children, Betty, Clint, Tina and Michelle and all their children, of Juneau; and Dennis Carlson and Karen Carlson of Arizona.
Mitch is also survived by an extended family of cherished friends, including Carol Whelan and her husband, Doug, of Juneau; Kathy Butler and her husband, Mitch, her children, Mandy, Danny, Holly and David of Wasilla; Clark McCann and his wife, Jo, of Wasilla, and Mike Nelson and his wife, Patti, of Elfin Cove.
These are friends who are much more than that. Their love, affection and time spent with our Mitch influenced and helped make the Man that he was!
There will be a celebration of life to honor Mitch. It is from 1 to 4 p.m., April 25, at Summit Worship Center, 125 W. Riley Ave., Wasilla.
