PALMER — Indie rock band Mt. Joy has recently been confirmed to join the Alaska State Fair 2024 concert series.
The Philadelphia quintet will perform at the Borealis Theatre August 19, at 7 p.m.
According to a recent press release, Mt. Joy formed in 2016 and made their mark in the music industry two years later when the song “Silver Lining" from their self-titled album went to No. 1 at AAA radio (Billboard Adult Alternative Airplay). The song has over 120 million Spotify streams to date.
Mt. Joy's second album, "Rearrange Us," was released in 2018 and their third album, "Orange Blood," came out in June 2022.
The band has generated over half a billion streams and earned critical acclaim from outlets such as NPR, Billboard, Rolling Stone.
They've performed at numerous music festivals, such as Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits and Bonnaroo. They've also toured with musical acts such as The Lumineers, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, The Revivalists, and The Head and The Heart.
Mt. Joy is one of several confirmed concerts to take place during the 2024 season, joining the set list of previously announced acts such as Oliver Anthony and Whiskey Myers.
Mt. Joy tickets go on sale Friday, January 26 at 10 a.m.

Concert-goers have the option to purchase concert-only tickets or tickets that include Fair admission.
Concert tickets including Fair admission must be purchased by August 15. The included admission comes at a discounted price and only works for the day of the concert.
