Nancy Carol James, 73, was called home July 8, 2013, and although our hearts are broken, we celebrate her joyous return to the arms of our Heavenly Father.
Nancy was born May 11, 1940, and raised in Ohio. She moved to the Matanuska Valley in 1978 with her late husband, Roger James. Through the years, Nancy was very active in the business community. She worked at the Valley Sun for several years and she also ran a successful print shop, Valley Printing, in the heart of Palmer for more than 15 years.
Nancy loved Alaska and she raised her youngest daughter, Kathy Wallace (Chad Wallace) and her son Roger James II (Genista James), to have the same love for their home. Nancy loved her grandchildren and they were a never-ending supply of joy and pride to her. Nancy’s two oldest daughters, Kim James and Karla Robinson, were raised and continue to live in Ohio with their families. Nancy’s memory will be carried on through her many loved ones.
Her grandchildren are Belinda, Rush, Bruce, Nancy, Sarah and Samantha, all of Ohio; and Karolyn, Kirsten, Ashley, Leah, Coltin and Grace, all of Alaska.
A celebration of life is at 3:30 p.m., July 14 at the Palmer Church of Nazarene, Palmer.
