Nancy Lou Little

Longtime Alaska resident Nancy Lou Little, 77, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2024, in her home.

A service will be held at First Baptist Church of Palmer, 1150 East Helen Drive Palmer at 2:00 pm on April 26th. A coffee and tea reception will follow.

Nancy was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on April 26, 1946, to Robert and Nancy Nees. She grew up in Denver, Colorado, and later attended Hardin Simmons University where she met her husband, Glen Little. They were married on August 28, 1966. Through the life of ministry with Glen, she moved to Arizona, Colorado, Texas and eventually Palmer, Alaska in 1977. In time, Nancy became a first-grade teacher at Swanson Elementary in Palmer, Alaska. Nancy served the immigrant community as an ESL and citizenship teacher. Between her service at church and as a beloved educator, mother, and grandmother, Nancy’s life was a gift to all who had the benefit of knowing her love and friendship. Nancy always acted in grace, perseverance, and hope, living by faith even in the hardest of times. She embodied this verse: “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” James 1:17. Her love of life and for others was a gift that never wavered.

Nancy is survived by her beloved husband, Glen Little, and her daughters Allison Little and Mary Sarr. She is also survived by grandchildren Elliese, Emily, Sophie, Ruby Wright and Luka Rose, Amadou and Kine Sarr. She is also survived by her favorite and most loved grand dog Dodge. She is survived by her brother, Mike Nees. Predeceased family includes her parents Alice and Robert Nees and her brother Randy Nees.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations in Nancy’s name to benefit Palmer Public Library to rebuild their children’s book collection.
