Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Wasilla resident, Neil Carter Weaver, 23, died Nov. 29 at home in Wasilla. A funeral will be held Saturday at 3 p.m., with a public visitation at 2 p.m., at Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel, 1015 S. Check St., in Wasilla.
Neil was born Nov. 15, 1986 in St. Louis, Mo., to Lorren and Patricia Weaver.
He enjoyed hockey, snowboarding, bodybuilding, fishing and mining.
His family wrote: “Neil warmed our hearts and tickled our fancy with his crooked smile”.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Daniel and Patricia Hogan; paternal grandparents, Carter and Gladys Weaver and uncle, Terry.
He is survived by his mother, Patricia M. Hogan of Wasilla; father, Larren J. Weaver of Anchorage; step-mother, Heidi Weaver of Anchorage; brother, Andrew Weaver of Fort Lewis, Wash., and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Arrangements were with Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel in Wasilla.
