Nominations open for ‘Summer of Heroes’ program

Nominations are underway for the 2014 Alaska Communications and Boys and Girls Clubs’ fourth annual Summer of Heroes program, which will recognize five Alaskans ages 6 to 18 making a difference in their communities.

Nominate young Alaska heroes until July 15 through the Summer of Heroes website, at an Alaska Communications retail store, or at Boys and Girls Clubs — Alaska Clubhouse.

Winners receive a $1,500 scholarship and a trip to the Alaska State Fair Aug. 24.

Alaska Communications will donate $25 to Boys and Girls Clubs — Alaska, up to $15,000 total, for every Smartphone sold through July 15.
