Patricia Ann ‘Pat’ Walker
Patricia Ann “Pat” Walker, age 94, died on Oct. 30, 2020, at the Mat-Su Regional Medical Center Wasilla, Alaska. She died of the COVID-19 virus. She was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church, Anchorage, Alaska.
Pat was born on Sept. 4, 1926, at Milaca, Minnesota, where she lived until she graduated from high school. Her dream of living in Alaska began in 1978 when she moved to Anchorage and began a 35 year working career. She retired from the State of Alaska. After her retirement, she relocated to Wasilla in order to be near family and live out her life, “Living in Paradise” as she put it, at The Primrose Retirement Communities.
During Pat’s life she enjoyed modeling, acting, classic movies, dogs and music. She sang with the Anchorage Concert Chorus for 18 years, and while with the chorus had the opportunity to perform in Canada, England and Australia. She said that singing with the chorus was the highlight of her life. Her love of dogs led her into doing “pet sitting,” and she also had a special fondness for cows.
Pat is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law: Holly and Randy Tabler of Holiday Island, Arkansas; and Randi and John Davies of Big Lake, Alaska; as well as six grandchildren and 13 great-grands. She was especially proud that she was able to remember everyone’s birthday.
Pat’s requests were that any donations be made to the Mat-Su Animal Shelter or the Anchorage Concert Chorus in lieu of flowers. Because of Pat’s faith in Jesus, her soul has gone to heaven, while her earthly remains will be placed at the Anchorage Memorial Park Cemetery, Columbarium.
