Ollie Robert Caldwell, 71, died Nov. 19, 2012, in Palmer.
Ollie’s ashes will be spread in the spring when his family comes up from Washington.
Ollie was born Dec. 22, 1940, in Moville, Iowa, to Vern and Alice Caldwell. He went to White River High School in Buckley, Wash. He moved to Alaska in 1970 to work on the trans-Alaska oil pipeline. He lived throughout Southeast Alaska working in logging camps. Upon his retirement, he moved to Sutton in 2005. Ollie was a proud contributor to Disabled American Veterans and enjoyed logging, watching NASCAR and hunting.
Surviving are his son, David Caldwell of Buckley, Wash.; grandson, David Caldwell Jr. of Sequim, Wash.; granddaughters, Stephanie Straub of Renton, Wash., Brooke Caldwell of Buckley, Wash., and Madison Caldwell of Buckley, Wash.; son, Daniel Caldwell (Ivy) of Wasilla; son, Scott Caldwell (Kelly) of Buckley, Wash.; grandsons, Black Caldwell and Chase Caldwell of Buckley, Wash.; daughter, Kim Caldwell (Mark Fox) of Buckley, Wash.; granddaughters, Marisa Caldwell, Kenadie Fox and Hayden Fox of Buckley, Wash.; brother, Jerry Caldwell (Linda) of Buckley, Wash.; brother, Howard Caldwell (Diane) of Kingsley, Iowa; sister, Leanne Whitfeldt of Tacoma, Wash.; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Vern Caldwell and Alice Campbell.
