Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Onnolee (Jeri) Marie O’Neill, 93, died Sept. 1, 2011.
She was born the daughter of Claude and Harriet Hale on Sept. 9, 1917, in Olean, N.Y.
For 69 years she was the loving wife to Michael Joseph O’Neill, who preceded her in death on March 19, 2005.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many who will dearly miss her. Jeri spent most of her life in Anchorage, wearing many caps. She is most remembered for her devotion to the patients at Providence Hospital. She gave freely of her time and energy to the care of those in need.
She leaves behind three sons, Edward, Michael and Henry O’Neill; and two daughters, Colleen White and Theresa Speer. Her legacy includes 20 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Mass will be offered at 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 10, at St. Michael Parish in Palmer. A reception in the basement of St. Michael will follow the Mass. Interment will be concluded at a later date and time.
