Orlene Edna Bond, 78, died April 25, 2011, of natural causes, at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center in Palmer.
No services are planned.
Orlene was born April 25, 1933, in Riverton, Wyo. She was a high school graduate. She came to Alaska in 1970, and resided in Palmer. She was a member of the Palmer Senior Center and her hobbies and special interests were dog mushing, horse training, gardening, leather tooling and socializing with all her friends.
Her family said: “Orlene never met a stranger and quickly converted them into lifelong friends. Her shining positive attitude will be missed by us all.”
Family members who preceded her in death were Alma Juanita Griffin, Henry N. Griffin, Lyle Bybee and Nancy Griffin.
Survivors are her husband, Marshall N. Bond; daughters, Mardie M. Robb, JoAnne Bond, and Rhonda Zak; grandson, Sean Winters; granddaughters, Krystal Minkler, Chelsea Bushey, Amanda Robb and Jaesah Perkins; great-grandsons, Jake Bushey, Connor Minkler and Jayden Bushey; brothers, Gary H. Griffin and Jay D. Griffin; sister, Tina M. Harrington; step-mother, Elsie M. Griffin; and step-sisters, Patty Plaster and Dorothy Pozun.
