Long time Alaska resident Patricia “Trish” Chapman, 59, died December 20th, 2020, while at home and surrounded by her family who so dearly loves her and always will. Due to the ongoing Covid pandemic, no public service will be held.

Trish was born on July 29th, 1961 in Torreon, New Mexico to Sadie and Charlie Castillo. She graduated from high school and joined the Army in the summer of 1980. She married her husband and lifelong best friend Allen Chapman in 1981. Trish and Allen traveled the world while serving in the Army. They had three children over the years: Lynne in Seoul, South Korea; Charles in Fort Hood, Texas; and Joshua in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. After having their second child, Trish left the Army to be a full-time mother and domestic goddess.

Trish enjoyed creative and artistic activities of all sorts, but especially knitting and sewing. She most enjoyed creating blankets for those she loved. Trish enjoyed travel, time with grandchildren and RV trips during our glorious Alaskan summers.

Her husband wrote: “She was the kindest person that I ever met and helped me to be a good man. My heart aches with the emptiness that her passing leaves within me.” Her friends and family will sorely miss her joyful presence.

She is survived by her husband, Allen; her daughter and son in law, Lynne and Shaun; her two sons, Charles and Joshua; and her grandchildren, Zoey and Gus—all residents of Alaska.

In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to Let Every Woman Know – Alaska (leteverywomanknow.org) a non-profit whose mission is to assist and support Alaskan women who have been diagnosed with gynecologic cancers.
