Patrick Joseph Allen, 55, of Wasilla died from a heart attack in his home on Feb. 23, 2013.
Born Sept. 12, 1957, in Everett, Wash., to Willis and Mary Allen, Pat lived his early years on the West Coast, including Lompoc, Calif., but fell in love with Alaska and lived the better part of his life here.
Surviving are his sons, Leigh, Ken and Pat; daughter, Mariah; grandchildren, Alexis, Aiden, David, Riley, Desmond, Paxton, Christopher and coming soon Alayla; brother, Bill; sister, Kathy; and many extended family and friends.
Pat was a hairstylist and worked alongside his brother until Steve’s untimely passing. He spent many years as a well-renowned gardener before being forced into retirement.
When Pat met Connie Willie, he discovered the love of his life — his children. He lived for his family and delighted in each new member as his children started families of their own. Pat loved fishing, camping, long family road trips and helping a damsel in distress. Above all else he treasured being a father and grandfather. He is dearly missed, but his legacy of a loving family above all else lives on through his family and friends.
A celebration of life is planned for March 10 at a private residence from 2 to 4 p.m. Please contact a family member or email hparsonak@gmail.com for further information. The family has many expenses and has requested in lieu of flowers or other gifts that donations be made to a savings account under Patrick Allen at Alaska USA Federal Credit Union. Arrangements were entrusted to Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel and Crematory of Wasilla.
