Wasilla resident Patti Plack Wilson, 78, died June 6, 2010, in Wasilla.
Patti was born Sept. 7, 1931, in California. Her parents worked from the desert to the Sierra Nevada. She arrived in Alaska in 1947, homesteading in the Mat-Su Valley.
Patti was a fun-loving, frolicking, adventuresome spirit.
The Valley was filled with dances, socializing and exploring. She went on to marry and have five children, build roads and experience the Territory of Alaska.
She gave everything she had to those she loved. She was a devoted wife, a best friend and a do-things-with, take-on-an-adventure kind of mother. An artist, ballroom dance instructor, seamstress and home-school coordinator, she was ever charming, sweet and a wit. “Pitty-Pat/Peppermint” always brought her frolicking free spirit to any situation, enabling even the trials of life to be more endurable.
She is survived by her brother, Philip Plack; her five children, Peter, Deborah, Patti-Ann, Larkin and Dana; her grandchildren, Atlantis and Jennye; and her great-grandchildren, Isabella and Autumn.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. June 19 at the Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel at 1015 South Check St., Wasilla.
