Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Patty Laverne Hendrickson, 85, died June 5, 2012, at Northern Comfort Assisted Living Center in Palmer.
She was born Nov. 22, 1926, in Poplar Bluff, Mo. She became a resident of Palmer in 1991 and retired in 2000. Patty was a member of the Palmer Church of God and was active at the Palmer Senior Center, where she was a board member and the lunchtime program director for activities. Patty loved to party plan or do house party sales.
The family thanks Northern Comfort Assisted Living Center staff for their caring and compassion. Her time there was made easier by their gentle touch.
Surviving are her sons, Dean and Raeann Henrickson of Palmer, and Scott and Christina of Palmer; granddaughters, Laura Hendrickson of Austin, Texas, and Katelyn of Palmer; grandsons, Jared and Cindy Hendrickson of Warner Robin, Ga., Nathan and Amanda Hendrickson, and Michael, Dallas and Cody of Palmer; great-granddaughters, Cadence Hendrickson of Austin, Texas, and Brianna of Warner Robbins, Ga.; great-grandsons, Sean, Liam and Conner Hendrickson of Austin, Texas; and sister, Margaret Barton of Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Herschel A. Hendrickson, who died in 1995.
Rev. Andy Hanson will officiate at memorial services at 2 p.m., June 10 at the Palmer Church of God, Mile 40 Glenn Highway.
The family was taken care of by Legacy Kehl’s Palmer Chapel in Palmer.
