Wasilla resident Paul Allen Plaas, 64, died March 26, 2011, at 673rd Medical Group Hospital, Elmendorf Air Force Base.
Paul was born Sept. 12, 1945, in Bremerton, Wash., to Paul Anthony and Twyla Pauline (Lovelace) Plaas. He served in the U.S. Navy. Paul mined and logged in Montana prior to moving to Alaska in the 1960s. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, stock-car racing and gemology.
He is survived by brothers, Mike and his wife Katie of Washington, and Rick of Montana; his nieces and nephews; and good friends, Tom and Lorrie of Wasilla.
