Paul Wesley Briggs

Paul W. Briggs passed away peacefully on August 16, 2018. Paul, the son of Keith and Marjorie Briggs, of Fairbanks, was born in Seattle, Washington on March 10, 1948. Paul made Alaska his home in 1969. He is survived by his mother, Marjorie, his son Paul E. Briggs (Trudy), sisters Janice Shipman and Gloria Hartzmann, grandchildren Amber and Devin, and great grandchild George. Paul was a jack-of-all trades, but he enjoyed his years driving the Haul Road the most in his beloved Kenmore truck. His greatest hobby was woodworking and he was a skilled craftsman. Paul’s life took a dramatic turn in 1995 when he became the victim of a violent gang beating leaving him with a severe brain injury. He became an active member of the Brain Injury Support Network. Paul had a great love of teasing, sparing no one; and he will be most remembered for his childlike smile and deep belly laugh. He will be laid to rest in Wasilla Cemetery on September 8.
