Paula Louise Grinnell died on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24, 2016. She was born on Feb. 11, 1942 in Monterey, California and raised in Pacific Grove, California. Paula passed peacefully after a short illness holding hands with her beloved husband, Fred, at her bedside.
Paula asked that there be no service and said; “Remember me as I was in life, not in death. Mourn not for me, but be happy in knowing I lived a full life shared by those I love.”
She asked that there be no flowers, instead, contributions may be sent to Our Lady of the Valley Catholic School, 1201 Bogard Rd., Wasilla, Alaska 99654.
Fred and his sister, Elise Grinnell Lyon, wish to extend a special thank you to Dr. Jeffrey Melendez and his staff of professionals at Mat-Su Regional Home Health and Hospice. There were far too many “Angels of Compassionate Care” to mention without omitting someone. Suffice it to say, each and every person contributed to Paula’s care and were always ready, willing and able to provide for her needs. A special thank you to Ginney Stocker for that “extra mile”.
There are no words to describe the compassionate care of the entire staff at Mat-Su Regional Home Hospice Care that would do justice to describe the dedicated staff. Paula’s ashes will be interned with her husband’s at a later date in Blackfoot Idaho, next to Fred’s late father, Ralph.
