A visitation for Pavel Bugaychuk, 82, will be Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m., with a funeral at 7 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 501 Bogard Road in Wasilla. Rev. Anatoliy Senyak will officiate. Another funeral will be at the church on Friday at noon. Graveside service will follow at the Aurora Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be Pavel, Oleg, Tony, Vasiliy, Vladimir and Andrey.
Pavel died Feb. 2, 2010, at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 17, 1927, in Ukraine. He came to Alaska on Feb. 26, 2001, and resided in Wasilla. He was a member of the Ukranian Church Emmanuel. He enjoyed Bible study and loved all children. He loved to be a friend to all people.
According to his family, “He believed in the word of God and lived by the Bible. He was prepared to go to be with his Lord. He was an example of a true believer in Christ.
His passion was to preach a clear message of God. ‘I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course. I have kept the faith.’ 2nd Timothy, Chapter 4 verse 6, 7 and 8.”
Pavel is survived by his wife, Yergeniya Bugaychuk of Wasilla; three sons, Viktor Bugaychuk of Canada, Vasiliy Bugaychuk of Soap Lake, Wash., and Alex Bugaychuk of Kent, Wash.; three daughters, Tatyana Revutskiy, Lidiyo Sheremet and Tataliya Zhuchkov all of Wasilla.
