Let me introduce you to an extraordinary man. He was ordinary in that, like all of us, he had a birthdate:
January 10, 1951. He had parents: Pete and Nancy Gallardo. He had a birth place: San Benito, Texas. He had siblings: Irma, Mandy, Dora, Sandy, and Noel. He married: Janet (Smith) Gallardo. They had children: Becky, Steven, and Kimberly and (fabulous) grandchildren: Aidan Cienna Ryker, Sydney, and Scarlett. He prepared for (the ministry and graduated from two Bible colleges: International Bible College and Rhema Bible College. He passed into eternity: February 2, 2024.
What was extraordinary about him was how he spent his time between the beginning and the end of his race. He began washing dishes at a restaurant in Texas when he was 12 years old to help with the family finances. He worked and attended school, moving to Alaska after graduation. At that time, he became involved in drugs for four years. God spoke to him while watching a Billy Graham movie, and that event changed his life. He came to know Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, turning his life around. Growing up in humble beginnings, and time in the drug scene gave him a deep compassion for people in similar circumstances. He gave away money, food, books, and sermons like there was no tomorrow. He founded Family Christian Center in Palmer and pastored there almost 34 years. However, his aim was to pastor the community. He shared the gospel at every opportunity and paid for a meal and warm place to sleep for many that never attended the church. We will celebrate the life of this beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and pastor at 1:00 Saturday, February 10 at White Fields Church.
