Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Peter Mark Gerbin, 35, passed away May 26, 2013, at Home of Love Assisted Living Care Home. The service is at 4 p.m., June 4 with a visitation starting at 3:30 p.m. Burial will follow the service at Palmer Pioneer Cemetery.
Peter was born Jan. 31, 1977, in Honolulu, Hawaii. His family moved him to Alaska in 1982 and he later graduated from Burchell High School in Wasilla.
Peter loved fishing, hiking, camping, sledding and skiing. Peter always was good to others and made friends with everyone he met. His loving family and close friends will miss him.
Surviving are his father, Walter J. Gerbin; mother, Karin Gerbin; step-mom, Ella Gerbin; brothers, Phillip, Joseph, Daniel and Stephen Gerbin; sister, Christina Griffith; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Lillian Gerbin, Vanessa Gerbin and Kevin Griffith; nephews, Anthony Gerbin, Alexander Gerbin, Omar, Alejandro, Ian Griffith and Robert Griffith; nieces, Katherine Griffith, Brenda Griffith, Nicole Gerbin and Michelle Gerbin; aunt, Cecelia Gerbin; and many other aunts, uncles and cousins.
Preceding him in death was his sister, Linda Sanchez; and brother, James Gerbin.
The services were in trusted to Legacy Funeral Homes Kehl’s Palmer Mortuary.
