Philip B. Wagner, 57, died at his home in Woodland, Wash., Feb. 9, 2013.

Philip was born March 19, 1956, in Oconomowoc, Wisc., to Ralph and Dorothy Wagner. He graduated from Riverview High School in Oakmont, Penn. After graduation, Phil traveled around the country before serving in the U.S. Air Force as a Medical Laboratory Specialist.

In 1978, he married Debbie Leonard. They moved to Alaska, where they raised their daughters, Megan and Rachael. Phil worked for the Municipality of Anchorage as a Senior Water Plant Operator at AWWU and was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 367. After his retirement, he moved home to the mountains of Woodland, Wash., where he lived until his passing.

Phil was adventurous and enjoyed travel, the outdoors, wildlife and fishing. He had an artistic nature and left many drawings to enjoy for years to come. Phil didn’t want us to be sad at his passing, but instead to gladly celebrate his life and the times shared with him. He had no regrets as he had accomplished all goals on his “bucket list.”

Surviving are his parents, Rev. Ralph and Dorothy Wagner of Palmer; daughters, Megan Wagner of Anchorage, and Rachael Sutton, her husband Michael and children Stormee, Ethan and Paige of Wilmer, Ala.; siblings and their spouses, Eileen and Bob Schuster of Pittsburgh, Penn., Neil Wagner of Eagle River, and Janet and Roger Boshears of Wasilla; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services for Philip will be held later this summer and will be announced at that time. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made in Philip’s name to: Feeding America, World Wildlife Federation, St. Joseph’s Indian School, Disabled Veteran’s National Foundation, Audubon Society and the American Cancer Foundation.

Memorial services are pending.
