Wasilla resident Phyllis Amy Bates, 89, died on April 24, 2014, at home.
A celebration of life is at 3 p.m., May 3, at Sunny Knik Chapel, Mile 14, Knik-Goose Bay Road. The family requests that you please wear purple.
Phyllis was born on Jan. 2, 1925, in Everett, Wash. Her special interests were wolves and she enjoyed mission work.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Heidi Angle of Wasilla; granddaughters, Shannon Schneller, April Curtiss and Kameah Angle of Wasilla; great granddaughters, Devon Curtiss, Michaela Schneller and Emily Curtiss of Wasilla; grandsons, Andrew and Johnny Bates of Wasilla; great grandson, Mason Bates of Wasilla; niece, Kelly Robinson of Anchorage; nephew, Mark Frazure of Anchorage; and many extended family and friends throughout Alaska, California and Washington.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Amy Bates; sister, Donna Potesky; and son, John Bates.
Arrangements were made with Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel and Crematory.
