Phyllis Elaine Jorgensen, 84, of Wasilla Alaska passed away peacefully on January 7, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones after a long fight with Dementia.

Phyllis was born on March 23,1938 to Clifford and Dolly Eckman. Raised in Minnesota, she moved to Palmer Alaska shortly after graduating High School. She worked at the Palmer Hospital and lived at the Palmer dorm, where she made so many lifelong friends, including her best friend, loving soulmate and husband, Wayne Jorgensen. On November 24th, 2022, they celebrated 62 beautiful years together.

Phyllis was loving and kind and set an excellent example of being upbeat and positive. Even as her memory and health were failing, she still loved to be around people, laugh and enjoy a nice glass of wine. Mohammed said, “A person’s true wealth is the good he or she does in the world.”. If that is the case, then Phyllis was a truly wealthy woman.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her sister Lavonna, her brothers Clifford, Leroy and Richard and her parents and many dear friends.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Wayne; Daughters Debra and Sonja; Son Nels (Tammy); and grandsons Joel and Alex (Clare).

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alzheimer’s Association to Alz.org or mail to: 225 N. Michigan Ave. Fl 17, Chicago, IL 60601.

Everyone who knew and loved her is welcome to pay respects during her memorial service at the Moose Club in Palmer at 1136 S. Cobb St. 1pm Saturday January 14th.
