HIT AND RUN
June 25, 12:08 p.m.: Police responded to the Holiday gas station located at 225 N. Boundary Street for a reported hit and run motor vehicle collision. Arlyn Stein, 51, of Wasilla reported she was getting fuel for her vehicle when a black 1987 Chevy pickup, bearing Alaska license plate EVM 692 rolled into her rear bumper. The driver then fled the area failing to exchange information. Through subsequent investigation, Police contacted Matt Jones, 20, of Willow at a residence off of Dewan Drive. Charges of leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage and tampering with physical evidence are being forwarded to the District Attorney's office. Additionally, it was discovered that Jones had an outstanding warrant for failing to appear on an original charge of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the 4th degree, and theft in the 3rd degree. Jones was transported to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility without incident.
ASSAULT
June 25: Police received a report of an assault that was in progress at 950 Bogard Road in Wasilla. Upon arrival, Police contacted the complainant, who reported that a female had been assaulted by a male. The investigation continues.
THEFT/CRIMINAL TRESSPASS/RECKLESS
ENDANGERMENT
June 25, 2:50 p.m.: Fred Meyer security personnel arrested Clifton Register, 23, of Wasilla, after observing him steal approximately $13 worth of food and pharmaceutical products. Register was contacted at the store by Wasilla Police and it was discovered that he had left a 6-week-old infant unattended in his unlocked vehicle. Criminal charges against Register are being forwarded to the District Attorney's office for theft, criminal trespass and reckless endangerment.

June 25, 10:43 p.m.: Dean Everding, Wasilla Fred Meyer's loss prevention officer, contacted Wasilla Police to report that the store had a 16-year-old male in custody for shoplifting. It was reported that the juvenile had attempted to take $209 worth of
merchandise.
June 27, 9:16 a.m.: Police responded to a residence on Foundry Way for a reported burglary. Police contacted Chris Calderon, 24 of Wasilla, who reported on June 26, between the hours of 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. an unknown person(s) broke into his residence and stole approximately $450 worth of items. The investigation continues and anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to contact the Wasilla Police Department at 352-5401 or Mat-Su Crime Stoppers at 745-3333.
June 27, 3:11 p.m.: Judy Rossi, 62 of Vale, Oregon, reported to Wasilla Police an unknown person(s) stole her purse out of a shopping cart at Wal-Mart. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Wasilla Police Department at 352-5401 or Mat-Su Crime Stoppers at 745-3333. The investigation continues.
VANDALISM
June 27, 3 p.m.: Brian Shea, 29 of Wasilla, called Police to report vandalism to his car. Shea reported that sometime between the hours of 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., unknown person(s) threw rocks at the windshield of his car, Alaska plate DGB993. Shea reported the car was parked at his residence at 230 E. Spruce Avenue when it was damaged. Loss is estimated at $250. Anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to contact the Wasilla Police Department at 352-5401 or Mat-Su Crime Stoppers at 745-3333.
DWLS/THEFT III/GIVING FALSE INFORMATION
June 27: Desiree Hacker, 27 of Wasilla, came to the Police Department to report her cousin, Beatrice Anaruk, 26, had used her name when she was cited for shoplifting at Sears on June 5. Charges of Theft in the third degree, driving while license suspended and giving false information will be forwarded to the District Attorneys Office on Anaruk.
DUI/DWLR/ASSAULT
June 27, 9:15 p.m.: At 2115 hours, MatCom Public Safety Dispatch received a REDDI report on a red 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe. The vehicle nearly caused a collision in the intersection at Lucille Street and Swanson Avenue when it failed to stop for a stop sign. Jarred Peterson, 18 of Wasilla, was identified as the driver and contacted at the Skateboard Park. He was subsequently placed under arrest for driving under the influence and driving while license revoked. Peterson was transported to the police department for DUI processing. During the processing Troopers say he assaulted a police officer by kicking him on the left leg, causing pain and swelling. Peterson was remanded at Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility.
RUNAWAYS
June 27, 9:15 p.m.: A 14-year-old juvenile female, was reported to have run away from the Dorothy Saxton Shelter. She was located and returned to the shelter.
ALASKA STATE TROOPERS
WARRANT ARREST
June 27, 9:58 p.m.: Trooper DUI Enforcement Team stopped a vehicle near Mile 6 of Knik Goose Bay Rd. in Wasilla for a moving violation. The operator was identified as Cheryl A. Nichols, 23, of Houston. Nichols was found to have an outstanding warrant for her arrest. Nichols was arrested for the warrant and remanded to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility on a $500 bail.
June 28: Troopers responded to a residence in Wasilla to execute an arrest warrant on Daniel T. Hamman, 30, of Wasilla. Hamman had one outstanding $1,500 warrant for his arrest for contempt of court for failing to comply with community work service requirements from the original offense of driving with no insurance. Hamman was arrested without incident and transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility where he was held on the warrant.
June 28, 4:38 p.m.: Troopers contacted Stephen Hutton, 24 of Anchorage, at Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility to remand him on additional charges. Hutton was remanded on a $50,000 arrest warrant with the original charges of distributing child pornography, and possession of child pornography.

June 27, 9:53 p.m.: Trooper DUI Enforcement Team conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near Mile 51 of the Glenn Highway that was a reported REDDI. The diver was identified Dustin B. Proctor, 25, of Sutton. Investigation revealed Proctor wasn't intoxicated but had a revoked license. Proctor was issued a summons to appear in Palmer Court on the charge of DWLR.
June 28, 11:54 a.m.: Troopers stopped a maroon 1991 Oldsmobile Cutlass near Big Lake Road, Wasilla for not displaying a front license plate. Investigation revealed that Michael Paul Scott, 28 of Wasilla, was DWLR for the original charge of DUI. Scott was issued a uniform summons and complaint and a citation for failure to show proof of insurance. The Oldsmobile was towed off scene due to the unavailability of a licensed driver.

June 28, 7:47 p.m.: Talkeetna Troopers stopped a vehicle on Douglas Street in Willow for a traffic violation. Subsequent investigation revealed that the driver, Wayne Ohls, 26, of Willow, was driving with a suspended California drivers license. Ohls was issued a summons to appear in court for DWLS and was released from the scene. The vehicle was turned over to a licensed driver who was a passenger.
June 28, 11:15 p.m.: Wildlife Troopers stopped a 1994 Chevy pickup for a moving violation at the Parks Highway and Church Road. Investigation revealed the driver, Tammy J. Deford, 32 of Wasilla, was driving the vehicle while her license was suspended. Deford was issued a summons to Palmer court and released at the scene.

ENDANGERMENT
June 28, 4:50 a.m.: Trooper DUI Enforcement Team contacted Ashley J. Mosher, 21, of Wasilla, at her residence in Wasilla. Mosher was reported as a REDDI vehicle leaving a party with a four year old child in the vehicle. Mosher was found to be operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol with a child in the vehicle. Mosher was arrested on scene for DUI and endangering the welfare of a child. Mosher was remanded to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility where she was held until sober with $500 bail.
MVC
June 28, 2:54 p.m.: Troopers responded to a two-vehicle collision near Mile 48 of the Parks Hwy. Investigation revealed that a brown 1994 Chevy pick-up operated by Norman Daniel Young, 46 of Wasilla, was southbound on the Parks Hwy. and slowing to turn right off of the roadway to make a cellular phone call, when he was struck from the rear by a brown 1988 GMC pick-up operated by Sierra Fishback, 18, of Wasilla. The Chevy sustained damage to it's rear tailbed area. The GMC sustained significant front end damage. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts. Neither driver reported any injuries and both declined medical attention. The Chevy was driven off scene. Fishback received citations for tailgating and failure to show proof of insurance. The GMC was towed off scene.
June 28, 7:38 p.m.: Troopers responded to a report of a single vehicle collision at the Parks and Glenn interchange on the Glenn Highway. Investigation revealed that Kimberley Reynolds, 42 of Anchorage was traveling northbound on a silver 2000 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when she lost control and collided with the guardrail. Reynolds was transported to Providence Hospital by Lifeguard for her injuries.
June 28, 10:28 p.m.: Troopers responded to a motor vehicle collision near mile 11.1 Old Glenn Hwy, near Palmer. Investigation determined that a 2001 Honda motorcycle, driven by John Vanover II, 58, of Palmer was southbound when he drove off the roadway into the ditch. Vanover was transported to Mat-Su Regional by EMS. His injuries were not considered to be life threatening. Alcohol is considered to be a factor. Investigation is continuing.
June 28, 12:12 p.m.: Wildlife Troopers responded to a motor vehicle collision at the Palmer-Wasilla Highway and Cottle Loop. Investigation revealed Ashley L. Bethel, 26, of Wasilla, was southbound on the Parks Highway in her 1995 Chevy Suburban, when she failed to slow for turning traffic. Bethel rear-ended a 2000 Dodge pickup, operated by Amy Neuharth, 28 of Wasilla. Neuharth's vehicle was then pushed into the oncoming lane and struck a 2000 Ford Taurus operated by James E. Bowdoin, 47, of Wasilla. Bethel and four of her passengers, as well as Neuharth, were transported to Mat-Su Regional for injuries sustained in the crash. The 1995 Suburban and the 2000 Dodge were a total loss. Damage to the 2000 Ford Taurus was approximately $4,000. Bethel was cited for failure to exercise due care to avoid a collision. All parties were wearing seat belts. Alcohol was not a factor in the collision.

June 29, 12:52 a.m.: Troopers contacted Josiah Benzing, 18, of Wasilla, after a traffic stop for no turn signal on Seward-Meridian Road and Palmer-Wasilla Hwy. Investigation revealed that Benzing was driving without a valid license. Benzing was issued a summons for NVOL and cited for failure to yield while turning left.

CLOSED WATERS
June 27: A17-ear-old male from of Wasilla, was cited by Talkeetna Wildlife Troopers for sport fishing in the closed waters of Little Willow Creek and retaining a king salmon over 20". Bail was set at $250 in the Palmer District Court.
June 27: Nicholas Guadagnoli, 41 of Big Lake, was cited by Talkeetna Wildlife Troopers for sport fishing in the closed waters of Little Willow Creek. Bail was set at $100 in the Palmer District Court.
June 27: Jeffrey Crombie, 39 of Big Lake, was cited by Talkeetna Wildlife Troopers for sport fishing in the closed waters of Little Willow Creek. Bail was set at $100 in the Palmer District Court.
June 27: William Gilbert III. 35 of Anchorage, was cited by Talkeetna Wildlife Troopers for sport fishing in the closed waters of Little Willow Creek. Bail was set at $100 in the Palmer District Court.
June 27: Stewart Gangwer, 58 of Willow, was cited by Talkeetna Wildlife Troopers for sport fishing in the closed waters of Little Willow Creek. Bail was set at $100 in the Palmer District Court.
June 27: Kelly Gilbert, 31 of Anchorage, was cited by Talkeetna Wildlife Troopers for sport fishing in the closed waters of Little Willow Creek and using bait where prohibited. Total bail was set at $200 in the Palmer District Court.
SPORTFISH - MORE THAN ONE LINE
June 26: Troopers contacted Brian T.C. Alonso, 20 of Chugiak, at the Eklutna Tailrace. Investigation revealed Alonso was sportfishing with two lines. Alonso was cited for Sportfish more than one line, with bail set at $110.
FAILURE TO RECORD
June 23: Wayne Drexler, 51 of Covington Wash., was contacted by Mat Su West Wildlife Troopers at Willow Creek. Drexler had caught and retained a king salmon of more than 20" and failed to record it on the back of his sport fish license. Drexler was cited and bail is set at $110.

GRAND JURY INDICTMENT
June 28: A Grand Jury convened and indicted Todd D. Crist, 39 of Wasilla, on charges of Sexual Assault I, Assault III & Assault IV (DV) against his live-in girlfriend at their residence. On June 19, Crist's live-in girlfriend reported that on June 18, Crist held her in their residence against her will, repeatedly threatened to kill her if she didn't do what he said and forced her to have sexual intercourse with him. Crist was interviewed and arrested on June 18 and is currently being held on $50,000 bail.
