ALASKA STATE TROOPERS

DUI/FAILURE TO REPORT AN ACCIDENT/MVC-D

June 9, 3:03 a.m.: Troopers arrested Adam N. Trigg, 21, of Wasilla for DUI and failure to report an accident after Troopers responded to Winding Brook Road on a single vehicle collision. Trigg was transported and remanded to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility. Bail was set at $500 cash only.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF III

June 29, 9:49 a.m.: Christopher Anderson, 50, of Eagle River reported to Troopers that sometime between June 27 and June 29 someone had vandalized a Caterpillar grader near Finger Lake Elementary in Wasilla. Damage is estimated at $1,000. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact AST at 373-8330 or CrimeStoppers at 745-3333. Investigation continues.

MVC/MCA/MOCA

June 29, 3:10 a.m.: Troopers investigated a single vehicle accident on Winding Brook Loop in Wasilla. Investigation led Troopers to a residence off Little Brook Lane and revealed that Forrest A. Charles, 18, of Palmer and Sarah A. Collins, 18, of Wasilla had allegedly consumed alcohol while under the age of 21 years old. Further investigaiton revealed Alena Y. Kalinina, 18, of Anchorage had also allegedly was consuming alcohol and operating a motor vehicle after consuming alcohol. All three were issued a summons for the offenses.

MVC-I

June 29, 4:17 p.m.: Talkeetna AST responded to a motor vehicle crash with injuries at Mile 86 Parks Highway. Subsequent investigation revealed that Annette Simpson, 70, of Anchorage drove her 1993 Cadillac car off of the road, striking a driveway and becoming airborne for about 65 feet before coming to a stop in the ditch of the northbound lane. Simpson and a passenger were both wearing their seatbelts, sustained minor injuries to their necks and were transported to Mat-Su Regional Hospital by Willow EMS. Simpson was not cited for the crash.

MIW IV & V

June 29, 11 p.m.: Troopers responded to Elsinore Road to investigate a report of a subject allegedly selling drugs. Troopers contacted Casey Allen James, 24, of Wasilla. Investigation determined James was allegedly under the influence of alcohol and had a loaded semi-automatic handgun concealed in his waistband. James was arrested, transported and remanded into Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility, where bail was set at $2,000.

WARRANT ARREST

June 29, 7:15 p.m.: Troopers stopped a Ford Ranger on Hollywood Road for a traffic violation. A passenger was identified as Terrella Petersen, 27, of Wasilla. Investigation revealed Petersen had an arrest warrant for failure to comply with bail conditions and for failure to appear in court on a driving while license suspended charge. Petersen was arrested, transported and remanded into Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility, where she was held without bail.

June 30, 20 p.m.: Troopers received a tip that Jeremy Carlon and Anthony Kitchen were staying in the Big Lake area. Troopers came in contact with Jeremy Carlon, 20, of Wasilla and Anthony Kitchen, 19, of Soldotna at the location given. Both were arrested on outstanding warrants for burglary in the first degree and theft in the second. Both were transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility where they were remanded. Both are being held on $20,000 cash only bond and a court approved third party.

DUI/ DWLR

June 30, 1:50 a.m.: Troopers stopped a Ford Explorer on Elsinore Road for expired registration and erratic driving. The driver was identified as Corwin Latchie, 28, of Wasilla. Investigation revealed Latchie was allegedly impaired, under the influence of alcohol and had a revoked driver's license. Latchie was arrested, transported and remanded into Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility, where bail was set at $1,500.

DUI

June 30, 2:35 a.m.: Troopers responded to a REDDI report in the Wasilla area, at about 2:55 a.m. Troopers stopped the REDDI vehicle, a white 2005 Chevrolet Malibu, on Anaheim Drive in Wasilla. Investigation revealed the driver, Erica M. Rothenbuhler, 26, was allegedly operating her vehicle while impaired. Rothenbuhler was subsequently arrested for DUI and remanded to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility where she was held on $250 bail.

DUI/MVC-D

June 29, 11:06 p.m.: Troopers responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Parks Highway and Willow Creek Parkway. Investigation revealed that Vickie Mills, 50, of Anchorage was driving a 1993 Ford Aerostar van northbound on the Parks Highway followed by Len Aw, 40, of Anchorage driving a 1998 Chrysler New Yorker. Mills got into the left turn lane to turn onto Willow Creek Parkway. Aw followed Mills into the left turn lane and allegedly rear-ended Mills. There were no injuries and everyone was wearing a seat-belt. Further investigation revealed that Mills was allegedly intoxicated and was arrested for DUI. Mills was remanded to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility.

June 30, 2:53 p.m.: Talkeetna AST responded to a residence off of Merlin Road in the Willow area for a report of a car that had run into a residence and the driver was passed out. Subsequent investigation revealed that Flora Chikigak, 53, of Willow was driving under the influence of alcohol when she drove into the residence. Chikigak was arrested for DUI and transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility where she was remanded for $1,000 cash or corporate. There was no damage to the residence and minor damage to the vehicle.

TERRORISTIC THREAT

June 30, 2:25 p.m.: Troopers responded to Nugen's Ranch, located at 3701 Palmer-Wasilla Highway, Wasilla, for the report of a bomb threat. Investigation revealed that at about 2:15 p.m. an unknown individual telephoned Nugen's Ranch and reported that there was a bomb in the building. Thirty individuals were evacuated from the residence and no bomb was discovered. Investigation is continuing. Any person with information is asked to contact AST at 745-2131 or CrimeStoppers at 745-3333.

THEFT III

June 30, 1:35 p.m.: Troopers received a report of a cell that was lost on June 27 by Elana Shiflea, 55, of Palmer. Since the loss, the cell phone has been used by another party to make calls and charges to the cell phone account. The account was terminated June 30. Investigation is continuing.

MVC-D

June 30, 12:42 p.m.: Troopers responded to a two-vehicle collision on the Palmer Wasilla Highway and North Luke Street. George Chapman, 40, of Wasilla was operating his white 1991 Ford F-350 pick up truck when he was rear-ended by Wendy Davisson, 61, of Palmer who was operating her silver 2003 Toyota Camry Solara. Damage to Chapman's vehicle was minimal; however, Davisson's vehicle sustained heavy front end damage and required a wrecker service for removal. Damage is estimated at $7,500 for both vehicles. Davisson was issued a citation for driver to exercise due care to avoid collision.

July 1, 4:10 p.m.: Troopers responded to the report of a motor vehicle collision at mile 108.5 Glenn Highway. Investigation revealed Marvin L. Banbury, 74, of Eagle River, was traveling south in a 2000 Ford Escort and was re-entering the Glenn Highway after having pulled over on the right hand shoulder of the roadway. While re-entering the highway, Banbury's vehicle was sideswiped by a 2002 Chevy Suburban driven by Douglas L. Boven, 63, of McBain Michigan. Boven was also traveling south on the Glenn Highway at the time of the collision. Both parties reported wearing their seat belts and there were no reported injuries. Banbury's vehicle sustained approximately $5,000 in damage while Boven's vehicle sustained approximately $7,000 in damage. Banbury was issued a citation for driver to exercise due care to avoid a collision.

BURGLARY I/THEFT II

June 30: Erin Kennedy, 30, of Wasilla, reported to AST that a residence on Agate Lane in Wasilla had been burglarized between June 29 and June 30. Total loss is estimated at $1,000. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact AST at 373-8330 or CrimeStoppers at 745-3333. Investigation continues.

BURGLARY

June 30, 6:03 a.m.: Troopers responded to the Bogard Medical Plaza located at 1750 Gardner in Wasilla for a burglary in progress. Investigation revealed that unknown subject(s) had entered through a side window, stole an undetermined amount of property/items from inside the facility and then fled the area just prior to AST arrival. Anyone with any information concerning this ongoing investigation is strongly encouraged to contact the Alaska State Troopers at either 745-2131 or 373-8300, or to contact AK CrimeStoppers at 745-3333.

ASSAULT IV (DV)

July 1, 12:48 a.m.: Troopers responded to a disturbance at a residence in Houston. Investigation revealed that Joshua Nyman, 22, had assaulted a family member. Nyman was arrested and remanded into Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility, where he was held without bail.

DRIVING IN VIOLATION OF INSTRUCTIONAL PERMIT

July 1, 8:04 p.m.: Troopers stopped a 2004 Chevy pickup for a moving violation near mile 54 Parks Highway. The driver was identified as Antonio Arroyo, 18, of Anchorage, further investigation revealed that Arroyo was driving in violation of his instructional permit when he drove without a licensed passenger in the vehicle. Arroyo was issued a summons and released.

DUI/MICS VI/MOCA/MCA

July 1, 3:03 a.m.: Troopers arrested Christopher W. Vazquez, 20, of Sutton for DUI, MICS VI, Minor Operating After Consuming Alcohol, and Minor Consuming Alcohol after AST found him slumped over the wheel of his vehicle at about mile 2 of Jonesville Mine Road in Sutton. Investigation revealed Vazquez had consumed alcohol while under the age of 21 years old, driven his vehicle after consuming alcohol, was impaired and under the influence of alcohol and had marijuana in his possession. Vazquez was transported to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility and remanded into their custody. Bail was set at $1,200.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

July 1, 2:30 a.m.: Troopers responded to the area of Jonesville Mine Road and Slipper Lake in Sutton for a report of an intoxicated male causing a disturbance. Investigation revealed, Jeremiah Leonard, 29, of Willow, caused the disturbance and continued to cause a disturbance once contacted by Troopers and asked to stop. Leonard was arrested, transported, and remanded to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility where bail was set at $300.

THEFT/DISORDERLY CONDUCT

July 2, 2:31 a.m.: Troopers responded to a disturbance at the Holiday Gas Station near Mile 49 of the Parks Highway. Troopers contacted three juvenile males ages 13, 14, and 15, all of Wasilla, as they fled the scene. An investigation determined that the juveniles had knocked over a display rack at the store, pushed the emergency shut off to the gas pumps and stole about $50 worth of merchandise from the store. The juveniles were released to the custody of their parents. Charges of theft and disorderly conduct are being forwarded to juvenile intake.

AK BUREAU OF WILDLIFE ENFORCEMENT

USE TREBLE HOOK WHERE PROHIBITED

June 23: Monrue Fitzgibbon, 27, of Wasilla was contacted by Mat-Su West Wildlife Troopers at Sheep Creek above the Parks Highway bridge. Fitzgibbon was sport fishing using a treble hook. Fitzgibbon was cited. Bail is set at $110.

FAO; TP RECORD KING SALMON OVER 20” AFTER RETAINING ONE

June 23: Wayne Drexler, 51, of Covington Wash., was contacted by Mat-Su West Wildlife Troopers at Willow Creek. Drexler had caught and retained a king salmon over 20 inches and failed to record it on the back of his sport fish license. Drexler was cited. Bail is set at $110.

ILLEGAL GEAR

June 29, 1:50 a.m.: Palmer Wildlife Troopers contacted, Axel Miller, 18, of Chugiak at the Eklutna Tailrace. Investigation revealed Miller was sport fishing with a weighted treble hook. Miller was cited for sportfishing with a weighted hook, bail set at $110.

SPORTFISH WITHOUT LICENSE

June 29, 1:52 a.m.: Palmer Wildlife Troopers contacted Craig S. Balzarini, 40, of Eagle Colorado at the Eklutna Tailrace. Investigation revealed Balzarini was sportfishing without a valid license. Balzarini was cited for sportfish without a license, with bail set at $210.

June 30, 8:40 p.m.: Palmer Wildlife Troopers contacted Erin A. Landlord, 25, of Anchorage, at the Little Susitna River near the Parks Highway. Investigation revealed Landlord did not have a 2007 resident sportfishing license. Landlord was cited with bail set at $210.

June 24: Dorthy Meyer, 25, of Palmer was cited by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers. Meyer was cited for sport fishing at the Eklutna Tail Race without a current sport fishing license in her possession. Bail was set at $210.

RESIDENT KING SALMON STAMP REQUIRED

June 30, 8:40 p.m.: Palmer Wildlife Troopers contacted Leonard D. Landlord, 43, of Anchorage, King Salmon fishing at the Little Susitna River near the Parks Highway. Investigation revealed Landlord had failed to obtain a 2007 resident King Salmon Stamp. Landlord was cited for failing to obtain a resident King Salmon tag, with bail set at $110.

OPERATE VEHICLE IN SALMON STREAM

June 30, 5:10 p.m.: Palmer Wildlife Troopers contacted William D. Mason, 27, of Wasilla near Moose Meadow Road and the Little Susitna River. Investigation revealed Mason had operated a 2004 Honda Four-Wheeler in the waters of the Little Susitna River, which is an anadromous fish stream. Mason was issued a summons to appear in Palmer Court and released at the scene.

June 30, 5:10 p.m.: Palmer Wildlife Troopers contacted Corryn N. Hocker, 21, of Wasilla near Moose Meadow Road and the Little Susitna River. Investigation revealed Hocker had operated a 2007 2007 Yamaha four-wheeler in the waters of the Little Susitna River, which is an anadromous fish stream. Hocker was issued a summons to appear in Palmer court and released at the scene.

USE MULTIPLE HOOK IN SINGLE HOOK AREA

June 29, 3:05 p.m.: Alaska Wildlife Troopers in Talkeetna contacted Benjamin Heinrichs, 20, of Willow while he was fishing in Sheep Creek. Investigation found that Heinrichs was using a multiple hook lure in a single hook area. Bail was set at $60 in the Palmer District Court.

June 29, 10 p.m.: Alaska Wildlife Troopers in Talkeetna contacted Don Stevens, 36, of Anchorage while he was fishing in Sheep Creek. Investigation found that Stevens was using a multiple hook lure in a single hook area. Bail was set at $60 in the Palmer District Court.

June 30, 9:18 a.m.: Alaska Wildlife Troopers in Talkeetna contacted Harold Fleming, 67, of Kelowna, British Columbia while he was fishing in Sheep Creek. Investigation found that Fleming was using a multiple hook lure in a single hook area. Bail was set at $60 in the Palmer District Court.

FAIL TO IMMEDIATELY RECORD KING SALMON

June 29, 10 p.m.: Alaska Wildlife Troopers in Talkeetna contacted Naomi Phillips, 21, of Wasilla after she had been fishing in Montana Creek. Investigation found that Phillips did not record a King Salmon immediately after harvesting. Bail was set at $110 in the Palmer District Court.

June 23: Donald N. Lee, 20, of Eagle River was cited by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers. Lee caught a king salmon in the Little Susitna River and failed to immediately log the landing. Bail was set at $110.

June 23: Mary A. Hayes, 50, of Eagle River was cited by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers. Hayes caught a king salmon in the Little Susitna River and failed to immediately log the landing. Bail was set at $110.

June 24: Jerry Schultz, 27, of Palmer was cited by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers. Schultz caught a king salmon at the Eklutna Tail Race and failed to immediately log the landing. Bail was set at $110.

SPORTFISH IN CLOSED AREA

June 28, 3:58 p.m.: Alaska Wildlife Troopers in Talkeetna contacted Kino Kazuhiko, 58, of Mushino City, Tokyo, Japan while fishing in Willow Creek downstream of the Parks Highway. Kazuhiko was issued a citation for fishing in a closed area. Bail was set at $110 in the Palmer District Court.

June 16: Nana M. Knowles, 38, of Wasilla AK was cited by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers. Knowles was sport fishing in the Little Susitna River during closed hours that are 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Bail was set at $110.

June 16: JonPaul D. Szybnski, 19, of Wasilla was cited by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers. Szybnski was cited for sport fishing in the Little Susitna River during closed hours of 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Bail was set at $110.

June 23: Frank C. Wininger, 20, of Wasilla was cited by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers. Wininger was cited for sport fishing in the Little Susitna River during closed hours of 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Bail was set at $110.

June 23: Brandon C. Wininger, 30, of Wasilla was cited by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers. Wininger was cited for sport fishing in the Little Susitna River during closed hours of 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Bail was set at $110.

NO PFD

June 16: Andrew A Hendrickson, 49, of Palmer was cited by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers. Hendrickson was cited for operating a boat in the Little Susitna River without having the required PFD. Bail was set at $110.

June 16: Daniel R. Pokrandt, 27, of Anchorage was cited by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers. Pokrandt was cited for operating a boat in the Little Susitna River without having the the required PFD. Bail was set at $110.

FAIL TO REGISTER BOAT

June 16: Ernest L. Collins, 50, of Wasilla AK was cited by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers. Collins was cited for operating a boat on the Little Susitna River that did not have current registration. Bail was set at $60.

June 18: Guy L. Stephen, 27, of Chugiak was cited by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers. Stephen was cited for operating a boat on the Little Susitna River that had never been registered. Bail was set at $60.

NO PFD/FAIL TO REGISTER BOAT

June 23: Justin C. Dault, 24, of Wasilla AK was cited by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers. Dault was cited for operating a boat on the Little Susitna River that was not registered and did not have the required personal flotation devices onboard. Bail was set at $270.
