July 11, 7:45 p.m.: Police observed Dustin Proctor driving a 1982 blue GMC truck in the parking area from Kentucky Fried Chicken to the Tesoro gas station at Main Street. Police made contact with Proctor because they had prior knowledge that his driver's license was revoked. Proctor was issued a summons to appear in court for the charge of allegedly driving while his license was revoked.
July 12: Police stopped Paul J. Schmelzer, 25, of Wasilla for not wearing his seatbelt near Swanson Avenue and Tommy Moe Drive. A check of APSIN records showed Schmelzer allegedly had his driver's license revoked. Schmelzer was issued a summons to appear in court for driving while license was revoked.
ASSAULT
July 12, 12:28 a.m.: Police responded to a report of a domestic violence assault at a residence on Selina Avenue. Following investigation, Theodore Knutson, 42, of Wasilla was arrested for physically assaulting his girlfriend. He was remanded to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility without bail.

July 12, 11:31 a.m.: Police made contact with Melissa Taylor, 26, of Wasilla on a traffic stop for failing to stop while emerging from a driveway/alley/building. A check of APSIN records on Taylor allegedly revealed that her driver's license had been canceled. Taylor was issued a summons to appear in court and released.
THEFT
July 12: Brenda Lampton, an employee of MASCOT transit alleged that unknown person(s) broke into one of their buses. Lampton stated the break-in had occurred sometime during the early morning hours of July 12 while the bus was parked in a secured yard at 225 W. Riley Avenue. Lampton said the fare box, which is on a metal pole next to the driver's seat, had been taken. Lampton stated the fare box contained approximately $10 but the missing fare box was worth approximately $500.
July 12, 12:15 p.m.: Dayton Osmond, 43, of Wasilla reported the theft of his wallet from his unlocked parked car. Osmond reported the theft occurred outside his business, Alaska Mountain Bingo at 721 W. Parks Highway. The loss is estimated to be $80. The investigation is ongoing.

July 12, 2:12 p.m.: Troopers responded to a two-vehicle collision at Mile 93 of the Glenn Highway. Investigation revealed a 1994 Chevrolet pickup, driven by Charles Overby, 57, of Sutton, was northbound on the Glenn Highway in a road construction zone when it was allegedly rear-ended by a 2002 Dodge pickup, driven by Quentin Stanley, 86, of Slana. Total damage was estimated at $7,000. All occupants were wearing safety belts and Overby suffered minor injuries only. Stanley was issued a citation for basic speed.
WARRANT ARREST
July 12, 11:57 p.m.: Troopers arrested Nickolas Lee Paff age 21, of Hysham, Montana for an alleged outstanding arrest warrant for failure to appear on the original charge of improper use of plates from Palmer Court. Paff was contacted in Wasilla after Troopers responded to a report of a party near Moose Meadows off north Sushana Road in Wasilla. Paff was transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility where he was remanded into custody on $500 bail.
July 13, 3:42 a.m.: Troopers arrested Benjamin A. Carney II, 31, of Wasilla on an alleged warrant for his arrest for failure to appear on an original charge of DUI. Carney was contacted during an unrelated investigation. Carney was transported to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility and remanded into their custody. Bail was set at $2,000.
ASSAULT
July 12, 10:03 p.m.: Troopers responded to a residence on Moonrise Drive in Big Lake for a report of an assault. Investigation revealed Dywane Loun, 53, of Big Lake, allegedly assaulted a family member. Loun was arrested and transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility where he was remanded without bail.

July 13, 4:35 a.m.: Troopers stopped a gray 1986 Honda 2-door for an equipment violation near Mile 2 of Bogard Road in Wasilla. Investigation revealed the three occupants, Peter Montanelli, 17, of Wasilla, Caroline Zola, 17, of Wasilla, and Denali Barnett, 17, of Anchorage allegedly consumed alcohol while under the age of 21 years old. Each individual was issued one summons for the violation and released to a parent.

July 10, 3:05 p.m.: David Thompson age 47, of Elk River, Minn. was cited by Wildlife Troopers for allegedly sport fishing for king salmon without a 2007 king salmon stamp after he was contacted at Eklutna Tailrace near Palmer. Bail was set at Palmer District Court at $210.
