Former Wasilla resident Ralph Kilbourne passed away at 84 on November 16, 2024, in Blountstown, FL.
Ralph was born in Tacoma, Washington, the youngest son of Robert and Neva Kilbourne. He met and married his wife Sharon on October 11, 1969. He moved his family to Alaska in the early 1970s. They lived in Anchorage, then homesteaded in Wasilla, before finally settling and building their home on Knik Lake.
Ralph loved fishing, hunting and exploring throughout the state. He could often be found fishing no matter what the season on Knik Lake. He spent as much time as he could roaming through the forests on ATVs and snowmobiles.
Ralph held many professions in his life from meat cutter to construction general contractor to correctional officer. He was a natural at operating heavy equipment, school buses, snowmobiles, ATVs and pretty much anything on wheels.
He is survived by his wife Sharon Kilbourne and their children: Randy (Linda) Kilbourne, Kevin Peterson, Darin (Cindy) Kilbourne and Courtney (Scott) Dickerson, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, his three brothers, and his son, Mark.
Per his request, Ralph's body was donated to science. No services have been planned at this time.
