Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Ralph Thomas Berg, 53, passed away peacefully at his home in Wasilla, with his wife and family at his side, on June 23, 2013.
A memorial service is at 1 p.m., June 29 at King of Kings Lutheran Church, 1601 N. Lucille St., Wasilla.
Ralph was born May 17, 1960, in Milwaukee, Wisc., to the late Walter and Fern Berg and moved to Alaska in 1982.
He enjoyed the outdoors, being on the river, fishing, hunting and being with his friends and family. Over the past several years he had enjoyed travelling to his wife’s native land of Thailand.
Ralph worked as a heavy equipment operator for many years for IBEW, MTA and other construction companies. More recently he worked for MANTECH.
Surviving are his beloved wife and best friend, Yada; brothers, Greg (Sandra), Mike (Karen), John and Dan of Alaska; sister, Amy (Bill); and brother Eric of Ontonagon, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, David and sister, Vicki.
Arrangements cared for by Valley Funeral Home and Crematory.
