Ramona June Covlasky, known by everyone as “Mona”, a long-term resident of Alaska passed from this life into the loving arms of her Lord with family at her side in the late evening of March 2, 2019 after an extended illness.
Born in Rush Springs, Oklahoma, Ramona, later moved to Boise, Idaho where she spent most of her early childhood. Her marriage to Billy “Bill” Foster later took her to Alaska in 1968 along with their three children. Ramona enjoyed sewing and owned “Mom’s Tailoring” for a number of years in Wasilla where she and husband Bill also regularly attended church. Ramona accompanied her husband Bill to a temporary job assignment with Mobil Oil Corporation to Saudia Arabia for two years where she honed her oil painting skills and also traveled extensively in Europe and the Middle East. Ramona’s many talents also included cooking, much to the delight of family and friends. Ramona and second husband, John Covlasky, spent their years in support of prison ministry and ministry to Alaska Native communities. Family and friends enthusiastically affirm that Ramona’s faith in God was an ever present, driving force in her life.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Summit Worship Center, Wasilla, designated for missions outreach.
