Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Randal L. Owens, 70, a longtime Alaskan, died at home June 9.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday at Palmer LDS Chapel, 560 E. Arctic Ave. Viewing will be held at 1 p.m., prior to services.
Randal was born in St. Anthony, Idaho, on Jan. 31, 1939. He had a life full of adventure. In 1965, he and his wife and young children drove to Alaska. He enjoyed the outdoors with his family.
He operated a business building log homes with his sons.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ann, his children and their spouses, Lynnette and Kevin Bowman, Michael and Kris Owens, Ben and Lori Owens, Daniel and Valerie Owens, Connie and Bryan Park, 22 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
He was greatly loved and will be missed by his family and friends.
He will be interned at the Pioneer Cemetery in Palmer.
