Raymond Hervey Lizotte, 90, a long time resident of Willow, Alaska, died Saturday July 30, 2016, at Granny’s Log Cabin.
He was born on June 11, 1926 in Marlboro, MA, and moved to Alaska in the early 1950’s where he met the love of his life, Ellen, who died in 2014. They were happily married for 52 years.
Raymond is pre-deceased by his parents Hervey and Nellie Lizotte, brother Clayton and sister Pearl. Raymond is survived by his sister Bertha Church of Hudson, MA, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, all of whom reside in Massachusetts, Oregon and Arizona. Ray loved his Church, Naughton, and Alaskan families.
After leaving the service he went to Alaska and did many things including work on the pipeline, driving trucks for Coca Cola, and many years at the Palmer Senior Center before he retired and continued on as a volunteer. He was very instrumental and involved in the planning and building of St. Christopher’s Catholic Church, where he served as a Deacon.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church, Mile 67 Parks Hwy, Willow, Alaska on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.
