Raymond Lyons Jr.

Born in Norfolk, Virginia Oct. 29, 1949

Ray joined the Army in 1968 did service in Vietnam as a medic. Later was discharged to attend college. Re-entered the military became a Military Policeman and advanced to Special Agent for the Army’s Criminal Investigative Division.

Changed careers again, attended medical school in Kansas City, MO. obtained his medical degree, specialized in Family Practice. He retired from the military in 1993 as a Major. He continued to practice medicine, working in various places across the country including Bethel, AK.

In 2006, he moved permanently to Alaska and purchased a home in Houston.

Preceded in death by his father Raymond and his brother Dan.

Ray is survived by his wife Ann Thompson Lyons of 50 years. His children, Brianne Lyons and daughter in law Debra, Robert Lyons and daughter in law Alexandria. Two grandchildren, Annemarie and William. His mother, Evelyn Lyons, sister Sandra Graby, brother Thomas Lyons.

Memorial service will be held at Willow Baptist Church Tuesday May 28th at 7p.m. with reception to follow. Interment will be a Fort Richardson on Wednesday May 29th at 2p.m.
