Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Rhonda Rae Roberts, 50, passed away at home in Wasilla, Alaska, on May 13, 2016. Rhonda was born November 1, 1965, in Anchorage. She graduated from Wasilla High School in 1983. She married Donald Roberts on December 13, 2001, on her grandparents’ 60th anniversary. Rhonda’s life was her husband, children and grandchildren; she loved spending her weekends with them.
Rhonda loved to camp and fish with her family in Homer and Moose River with her dog Dolly. She loved her animals. Rhonda lived her first eight years on DeArmoun Road in Anchorage, then the rest of her life in Wasilla. Rhonda also loved playing bingo with her mother and was very proud of her two brothers, Paul and Chuck. Rhonda was a very compassionate and caring person.
Rhonda’s survivors are her husband, Donald Roberts; children, Justin (wife Kesha) Jensen, Jonas Jensen, Justina Lestenkof (husband Ernest Savak) and grandchildren, Quentin, Brooke, and Jackson Jensen, Celeste and Chance Savak; mother, Linda Jensen; brothers, Paul (wife Brenda) Jensen and Charles (wife Katie) Jensen; cousin and best friend Judy Cox. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Jensen; grandparents, Paul (wife Betty) Lepors, and Henry (wife Edna) Jensen.
A memorial service will be held at the VFW Post 9365, 301 E. Lake View Ave. in Wasilla on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 2 p.m.
