Richard Charles Faraci
December 6, 1943 to August 4, 2021
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father, Richard Charles Faraci. He passed away at home of natural causes on August 4, 2021. He is survived by his wife, Sonya; six children and their spouses: Jack Limes and wife, Kerri; Charles Faraci; Jami [Faraci] Postishek; Angelo Faraci and wife, Megan; Enrico Faraci and wife, Cassie; Dina Faraci Wilson and husband, Ryan; twenty-two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his twin sister, Elizabeth Faraci, of New York; and sister, Patricia Faraci, of Florida.
Richard was born on December 6, 1943 in Sea Cliff, New York. At age 17 he moved from New York to Nevada and from there he joined the US Navy. Richard served honorably aboard the USS Constellation. He moved to Alaska with his growing family in 1978 and never moved again. He worked for several years at Kulis, ANGB in Anchorage, Elmendorf AFB, and Fort Richardson before it merged into JBER. He then retired from the State of Alaska in 2000. He was distinguished, having received several letters, medals, and commendation coins from several generals and other high ranked officers for the excellence of his work performance.
His easy-going, fun, and loving personality endeared him to our children’s friends. Involved in church, he planted flowers and helped start and care for a vegetable garden. He was also highly active in cleaning the church.
Richard is very missed by his family and friends. We know he rests in God’s loving arms. We carry him in our hearts and he is forever loved.
Those that knew Richard may join in a Celebration of Life with an Honor Guard Ceremony on October 16, 2021, at 2 pm, located at the American Legion Post #35 at 5050 Tweed Ct., Wasilla, AK 99654.
