Richard Reimer passed away peacefully on July 12, 2024, after a long illness. He was born in Woodstock, Ill March 12, 1949. He graduated from high school at Crystal Lake, Ill. He joined the Air Force and was stationed at Elmendorf Air Force Base for 8 years. While there he met and married Linda Carawan. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary 6 days before his death. Richard was a wonderful softball player and was known as Swede by his softball teammates. He was also known as the man who played softball with no socks! He worked in retail at O'Reilly's and Fred Meyers in Palmer and Wasilla and was well known for great customer service and a sense of humor. He also worked with emotionally disturbed children and was instrumental in helping them develop coping skills to be successful in life. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, his parents, Walter and Lorraine Bloese Reimer, and several miscarried children and grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Reimer, and devoted children Brian Reimer, Kimberly (David) Garrison, Breanna (Scott) Olson, Kathryn (Brad) Hale, Keyvin (Amanda) Reimer, and Bryce (Sabra) Reimer; cherished grandchildren, James and Payton Garrison, Dominick and Ariel Olson, Jacey and Kayden Crockett, Rylynn and Ember Hale, Raina Reimer and Holten Reimer and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 27th at 2 pm at Settlers Bay Community Church, Wasilla, AK located on Knik Goose Bay Road. A reception will follow.
