September 16, 1959 - October 21, 2023

Long-time Alaska resident Rick Dalmolin died on October 21st, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born to Duane and Bobbi (Warnke) Dalmolin on September 16th, 1959 in Phoenix, Arizona. In the 1970's, Rick moved to Alaska as a teen and fell in love with the state. Over the following decades, he worked a variety of jobs including food service (Hotel Captain Cook, George's Family Restaurant and Wasilla Area Seniors), mental health (Life Quest) and construction (Wolf Electric, Paul Davis Restoration and Cook Contracting).

While quiet and sometimes gruff, Rick was always willing to help others and loved nothing more than teaching people to hunt and fish. Those who knew him were blessed by his compassion, acceptance, sense of humor and amazing cooking. He is greatly missed.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents Duane Dalmolin and Nancy Dalmolin. He is survived by his wife Katherine; his children and their spouses: Tia and Beau Jennings, Charles & Jamie Dalmolin, Shaylynn Denton, Izaya Dalmolin, Malila (Dalmolin) & Colton Locker; eight grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; his Aunt Georgia Anderson; his cousin Vicki Love; his brothers Greg, Mark and Donny Dalmolin; and a vast network of friends, in-laws and honorary family members.

In keeping with Rick's preferences, a private family service was held in his honor. Messages for the family can be sent to Rick's e-mail address, pansized@hotmail.com.
