Rickey K. Thomas was born in Klamath Falls, Oregon, in 1954. He spent his youth throughout Oregon and Alaska. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany during the 70s. He has been a member of the Meadow Lakes community since the early 90s. He has worked and remodeled much of the valley. He owned A1 Woodworking and spent many years working for KKL as their maintenance, remodeler and had built many of their stores.
Rick was a carpenter by trade. He loved woodworking and creating things with his hands. He built his house entirely on his own. He always had so much pride in what he could create and it was always beautiful no matter what it was. If it was a cabinet or a coat rack it did not matter, it was always done with pride and care.
Rick was Alaskan to the core; he loved being outside. He liked to hunt and his favorite thing to do was going fishing. He loved to pack the dogs, his kids, as well as the grand kids, up in the boat and spend all day on the water. He also enjoyed camping, gold panning and taking his dogs out for all day long adventures. He enjoyed flying out to remote fishing locations or taking a fishing charter and to just enjoy nature. He also loved to entertain and have friends over for dinner; he was a fabulous cook.
Rick met his wife, Dianne Thomas in the late 90s. They have been together since the early 2000s and eventually married in 2013. Just seven months into their marriage they found out they would be starting their hardest journey ever asked upon a couple, Rick was diagnosed with Liver Cancer. He beat the cancer but it was not enough. He went into complete liver failure and has been battling that for the last four years. He fought a good fight. The hardest battle of his life. He was finally released from his broken body on March 21, 2017. He has left us all to live with our Heavenly Father. Per his request a private Celebration of Life will occur this summer at his favorite fishing hole.
He leaves behind his wife, Dianne Thomas, Step-Child Chesah Peterson and her spouse Devin Peterson as well as five grandsons, James, Tyler, Treyce, CeeJay and Jonas. He also has his two four legged kids, Fisher and Lilly. He is also survived by his mother Eve Stockton and sister Vicky Alexander of Washington.
