Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Wasilla resident Rita Alice Wright, 58, died Sept. 19, 2012, from natural causes at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center in Palmer.
Pastor Kevin Shumway will officiate at memorial services are at 1 p.m., Sept. 29 at Hilltop Assembly of God Church, Mile 59.7, Parks Highway, Houston.
Rita was born May 28, 1954, to Delmer E. and Ruth E. (Lewis) Blevins in Washington County, Va. Rita was a longtime Washington resident before moving to Alaska in April 2001, including areas such as Seward and Valdez before making Wasilla her home. Rita was a loving homemaker who enjoyed her home, husband and church. She was a faithful member of Hilltop Assembly of God Church.
“If she knew you, she loved you — and she knew a lot of people,” wrote the family.
Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, Guy, Rockey and Gene Blevins; and sister, Marsha Blevins.
Surviving is her husband, Jack M. Wright of Wasilla; brother and sister-in-law, Vern and Judy Horn-Blevin of Bethel; sister and brother in-law, Rena and Don Carmichael of Clinton, Wash.; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
