“Pua” means “Shining” in Hawaiian. Pua was born May 1, 1986, in Honolulu, Hawaii, son of James Perry and Darlene Stenhoff.

Pua moved to Wasilla in 1993 and eventually graduated from Wasilla High School.

Pua was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy at age 8. He was an angel waiting for a cure. Although he had limitations, he loved life and he truly was our shining star.

Pua was very kind-hearted person who loved people and loved to be around them. Nature never ceased to amaze him. He was passionate about watching good movies and playing video games, especially with his close friend Chad.

Although his star has dimmed temporarily, Pua’s mother, Darlene, and his big brother, Shannon “Keol,” will always love him. Pua will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

Preceding him in death were his dad, Miki-Ele; grandmother, Elaine; and grandfather, Robert.

Surviving are his uncle, Gilbert; cousin, Gary; cousin, Angela; sister, Penney; aunt, Georgie; aunt, Connie; aunt, Tinkey; and his special friend, Chad.
