Robert (Bob) Bunker of Wasilla, Alaska, passed away early on the morning of April 14, 2021. Bob was born in Jackson, Michigan, to Dean & Mazie Bunker and spent his early years in Michigan Center, MI, until the family moved to Alaska in 1960 to homestead in Willow.
Bob graduated from Wasilla High School in 1963 and then served in the Navy until 1968. While in the Navy, he met his future wife Pat Hunter.
They were married on June 1, 1968, and raised three children together. Over the years, they lived in Gold Creek, Cantwell, and Glennallen before moving to Wasilla in 1976 where Bob has resided for the last 45 years. Bob worked for the Alaska Railroad, the Alaskan Pipeline, and in construction for many years. He loved hunting, fishing, and the great outdoors. He also loved animals, especially his dogs. Bob will always be remembered for his generosity and kindness to others and his desire to share his faith in Christ.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, Dean Bunker, and his sister, Diana Walker.
He is survived by his mother, Mazie Bunker; his former wife, Pat Fouts; his children, April (Jerry) Foster, Andrew Bunker, and Amee Reese; his siblings, Terry (Juanita) Bunker, Gloria (Doran) Lee and Phyllis (Tom) Symmonds; and three granddaughters, Alicia (Justin) Snell, Katelyn (Phill) Kovach, and Emily (Jay) Bowdoin, as well as his great granddaughter, Kai Snell.
