A resident of Wasilla, AK since 2009, died on February 24th, 2019 at home.
Robert was a proud veteran, serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Robert enjoyed making knives and jewelry. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was an outdoorsman, working with the Idaho Forest Service until the late 1980s and then worked for Parks and Recreation in Lincoln City, OR until the late 1990s.
Robert was predeceased by his wife Kolene and his daughter Cleona.
He is survived by his Sister Peggy Letterman and her husband Steve. He is also survived by his son Robert Lee Murphy Jr., and his wife Betsy; his daughter Taunia K. Cheney and her husband Jon; and his son Dennis E. Murphy and his wife Monique. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Burial service will be held at 11:00 am on the 7thof March 2019 at the Pioneer Cemetery in Palmer, AK. A memorial service will be held at the Colony building of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 5:00 pm. Bishop Kelley Tedd of the Colony Ward of will officiate.
