Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Robert T. Adamson, 69, went to be with the Lord on May 19, 2014, at Alaska Regional Hospital.
He was born on June 22, 1944, in Sioux City, Iowa. He was a Marine Corp veteran and received his bachelor of science degree in zoology from Weaver State University in Utah. He was retired in 1997 from Idaho Fish and Game. He came to Alaska in 1998 and settled in Wasilla. He was a member of the Big Lake Baptist Church. He enjoyed his family, hunting, fishing and shooting.
According to his family, “He was a truly loving husband and a best friend.”
He was preceded in death by his parents, Loyd and Lucille Adamson.
He is survived by his wife, Debra Adamson of Wasilla; son, Bret Adamson of Benson, Utah; daughter, Heather Egbert of Logan, Utah; five sisters, Linda Sullivan, Sandy Curtis, Mary Facer, Kathy Barten and Sherry Dickerson; two brothers, Jim Adamson and Bill Adamson; one aunt and three cousins.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. to noon, May 23 at Big Lake Baptist Church (Mile 52 Parks Hwy). Fellowship and encouragement is planned from noon to 1 p.m. And a funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor Brad Whitworth, Pastor Doug Janneck and Del Ray Hobbs Officiating. Graveside services with Military Honors follow at 3 p.m. at Valley Memorial Park Cemetery, Mile 12.8, Old Glenn Highway near the Butte.
Arrangements were entrusted to Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel and Crematory of Wasilla.
