Roberta Caywood passed away peacefully on Sept 27th in Wasilla AK. at the age of 78 with her children at her side. She was born and raised in Nome AK. and as a teenager moved to Anchorage AK and then attended Copper Vally High School in Glenallen where her future husband Louis Caywood also attended. Little did she know that she would marry the captain of the basketball team when their paths would later cross in Anchorage AK. They eloped in 1963 and later had a church wedding in Palmer and the Valley is where they made their home and raised their 6 children.

Her favorite past times were reading classic novels (she read them all), road trips, seeing new places and being with family and friends. She was a devout Christian, and her family was her everything and her life’s work.

She spent many years going to college at UAA in Anchorage, working in the Mat Su School District, where she just adored working with the special needs children and various coworkers throughout the years.

She is survived by her 6 children and their spouses along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A Mass and Celebration of Life will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Wasilla AK on October 6th @ 2:00 PM.
